OMG I am soooo excited!

I worked for hours at my grandparents place scanning almost 300 images to 9 cd's, then we went to catch the bus at 6:15pm my time, well we must of missed it, BUT.... We saw TWO, count them TWO different Great Blue Heron's flying. They flew in the same direction, not too far apart so I know they were not the same bird. Boy I was / am over the moon happy! lol And I just about screamed when I saw the 2nd one! LOL The Great Blue Heron has always been one of my very favorite birds. I can't believe my luck! I never thought I would see it again this year for let alone 4 sightings in the span of a week or so. On May 24th I had seen one Great Blue Heron twice - you can see that image here and the edited version here.

The pictures aren't as clear as my last one, but still I am happy.

It was too far away before I realized what it was, I took about 8-10 pictures of that and you can see it is a Great Blue Heron, but they are blurry.

This one flew right over us, still way up high, but got a better view of him!

Photo Trays...

I am trying to go through my house and do some of my projects I have been putting off, I have 2 of these photo trays, at Christmas I did 4 for gifts and I had printed an extra set of the photos off in case I messed one up! Well I didn't mess them up so when I saw the trays in the store again I snapped 2 of them up. I still have to order another set, I haven't decided what photo to do yet!

Canadian Geese & Goslings...

Ok so I am a few days late posting these pictures as I have been having computer problems, but here you go...

On Tuesday, May 26th 2009 I went with my mom to her doctors appointment and met up with my adoptive grandma & grandpa, while mom & grandpa stayed at the doctors, grandma and I went to a friend of hers who has a gorgeous property on top of a hill. Well what a view she has, but all the trees are in the way, last time my grandma was there they had no leaves on them so you could see really far.

The pictures below aren't the best, as I was too far away from everything. We had 29 Celcius, 84 Fahrenheit weather, boy were we HOT! But we really enjoyed the day.

This is an image I created using a Photo Stitch program, not the best but gives you an idea what her property looks like. Click on the pictures to see bigger ones.

Then after mom and I went to a lake that I have been wanting to visit, near our college, but I have been to chicken to because of my last run in with a goose, lol. We saw 17 adults and 11 babies. Two families, 1 pair had 6 babies, the other pair had 5. We also saw lots of red winged black birds (which I keep calling black winged red birds, mom gives me a look every time I do, lol)

This is an image I created using a Photo Stitch program, not the best but gives you an idea what the college lakes look like, there is 1 larger lake, the width is thinner, and then it is longer but not quite as long as the picture makes it look. lol Then behind it is a smaller lake with a fountain, which the pair with 6 babies was swimming in it at first and we almost didn't see them, then they came in to the big lake and all the geese, all 17 + 11 babies were swimming at the same time. Oh and their was 1 duck, only 1!

Great Blue Heron...

This is my latest print in my shop, I had some fun editing it, I made it look like the sun was shining near it, I brightened it a bit and I made the sky a little bluer. I am quite happy with the results.

My exciting day!

Well yesterday was a gorgeous day outside and so my mom and I decided to go down to a bridge...and what an exciting day it was, so glad I had my camera.

We took the bus to the library and we saw a few small birds, two of which looked to be fighting or maybe mating. Then we walked over to a bridge, and on the left hand side there were no Canadian Geese or ducks in the water and then 2 flew by. Then a man walked by and saw my camera and told me to look at the end of the bridge as there are fish there. We they were HUGE fish in the water near the rocks! Then we didn't see any birds in the forest area at the end so we crossed the road, then no birds until we were about to cross the bridge again on the right hand side. We stopped to look around and I just happened to look down, and what did I see ? A baby bird in a tree hole nest, we think it is a woodpecker, I am still trying to confirm that.

Then we went to my grand parents where I scanned images on to cd's for a few hours and before we came home we walked over to a near by park. On the way I just happened to look up and what did we see ? We saw a bird flying over head and we are pretty sure it was a Great Blue Heron. We saw it on the way home as well.

Then on the way home in a cab (we were pooped) I saw a bunny rabbit, but not in time to get a picture.

All in all it was a fun day. I loved seeing all the wildlife. But it was too far away to get any great pictures!

BLUE JAYS!

Yesterday (May 20th, 2009) at about 6 pm I went outside to get some pictures of the small birds that were outside, last few days I could see 30 or so outside my door singing. Well I took some pictures and then I got lucky, I saw 2 beautiful Blue Jays! My pictures aren't that good, the birds didn't stay put for long, but it sure was nice seeing them.

And now to tell you 10 things that you may or may not know about me:

1. OK My dream vacation is to go to Alaska, I don't know why I have just always wanted to visit there, I am not crazy about being on a boat like a cruise as I am a bit scared of that type of thing, but still would like to take a cruise to Alaska. And Bill (HouseofSixCats) and his family, leave tonight, let me just say JEALOUS! lol Have fun Bill!

2. My other dream is to see a lighthouse in person, I just LOVE lighthouses and have recently started collecting Lighthouse ACEO's. I have a lighthouse puzzle collection too. I also love covered bridges and barns.

3. I collect ACEO's (Art Cards Editions and Originals), they are highly collectible pieces of art, 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches - basically the size of a trading card.

4. Hmmm, this is hard to figure out what to tell you, lol. Well... thinking, hmmm thinking... lol

5. My favorite singers are COUNTRY MUSIC: Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, George Canyon, Trisha Yearwood. POP MUSIC: Steps, Westlife, Boyzone, B*Witched, M2M, Savage Garden, Aqua, The Corrs, Abba, The Beegees, Cascada, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Hilary Duff.

6. Some of my favorite movies are MUSICALS: Dirty Dancing, Grease, The Sound of Music, Enchanted, Dreamgirls. DRAMAS: I love courtroom dramas and made for tv movies. Kiss The Girls and Along Came a Spider. COMEDIES: How to loose a guy in 10 days, Raising Hellen. Oh and I LOVE Super Hero movies lol X-Men 1,2,3 Daredevil & Electra, Fantastic Four, etc. But I didn't like the Spiderman movies at all. I also love disney movies.

7. I spend way to much time on my computer! lol

8. My favorite tv show is CSI: Miami.

9. I have been to a few concerts: Trisha Yearwood (and Duane Steel opened the show), George Canyon, Sawyer Brown, The Canadian Idol Winners Tour (Theo Tams, Drew Wright and Mitch Macdonald with special guest Amberly Thiessen).

10. I don't like Onions, ok I don't like a lot of things I am a picky eater! lol

11. OK so I cheated on #4 I guess I better tell you a 10th thing about me! :) I LOVE potatoes, and meal with potatoes is my favorite!

We had 3 visitors today...

Today when we woke up I looked out the window and said to my mom "Oh my goodness, we have 3 feet of snow", well I was joking but she got up anyways and we had a good laugh!

Anyways so we are waiting for our pizza to come with our door open and she says hurry come quick, there is a deer outside our door, then she says there's another deer. Well I thought she was joking to get back at me, turns out there were 3 outside! lol

And let me point out that I had just had a shower, put my flowery blue pj's on, hadn't brushed my hair and my hair was wet, the Pizza guy shows up the second I get outside with my camera (I had planned to stay hidden) I said thanks and went looking for the 3 deer. Mom paid, Jessie screamed and anyone who saw me outside thought I was nuts I'm sure.

I got closer to them then I would have a goose, LOL, anyways I hid behind a garbage bin from the 4plexes near by, and watched as they nibbled a neighbor's tree, and then her pretty purple flowers. Then I went inside and ate our delicious pizza.

The pictures aren't that clear and for some reason their eyes all went blue & green! lol
